WHAT IS SUMMER SIDEKICKS?
ESCWR Summer Sidekicks is a FREE summer learning program that provides grade 1-6 students with review and enrichment in the month of June to prevent the summer slide. ESCWR Summer Sidekicks has fun weekly themes to keep students interested and engaged! The program is summer camp style and has stations that students rotate through. Stations consist of Mathematics, English Language Arts/Reading, Science, Arts, Physical Recreation time and more to provide students with a well balanced program. Reverse field trips and community partners are brought in to provide meaningful activities and lessons.
HISTORY OF ESCWR SUMMER SIDEKICKS
The program debuted in Lake County in the summer of 2021 and focused on remediating unfinished learning and integrated student supports to offset the COVID-19 pandemic challenges for young people. The program expanded to Geauga County in the 21-22 school year to Berkshire Local. In 22-23 school year ESCWR Summer Sidekicks program again expanded in Geauga to Cardinal Local Schools.
