Prior to that she was the special education supervisor at Olmsted Falls and Maple Heights City Schools, a teacher and an elementary principal in Brooklyn City Schools, and teacher for Toledo public schools.

Welcome Back Message:

I want to welcome the ESCWR staff back for the 2020-2021 school year.  School will look different this year and I appreciate your dedication to our students, families, and schools.  Although this year will bring many challenges, I know you will persevere and learn new ways to engage students to make them successful.

In the past year, we as an organization have worked diligently to strengthen our programs and services and I hope that you are as excited for our future as I am.   Last school year we learned a great deal about relationships, flexibility, and retooling remote learning options for students.  As we know, the future is uncertain as the global pandemic continues into this school year. Regardless of  the educational setting, I am confident of your ability to educate our students.

I am proud of our staff and our schools for the hard work and dedication put forth to reopen our buildings.  I could have never imagined in my almost twenty plus years as a school administrator that we would be in a situation of this nature.  Having the opportunity to observe our schools work tirelessly over the past months to create their reset/restart reopening plans has given me greater appreciation and respect for our profession.

Overall, I do believe this year will make us stronger and bring us closer to our students and schools.  I cannot wait for our schools to reopen and observe students back in classrooms both face-to-face and remotely.  We need to build strong relationships with students in order to motivate them to want to learn and prepare them for the unexpected world in which we live.

I wish you all a great school year and want to thank you all in advance for your flexibility and understanding as we move into the 2020-2021 school year.

Best Always,

Jennifer Felker
