Message from our Superintendent, Jennifer Felker:
Dear ESCWR Staff and Schools,
I want to welcome back the Educational Service Center of the Western Reserve (ESCWR) staff for the 2021-2022 school year! Thank you for your hard work and dedication to our students, families, and schools that you support in Geauga and Lake counties and beyond. Our ESC is excited to offer new programs and services, as well as welcome new staff to our team. Our administrative team has once again worked diligently this past year to strengthen our programs and services.
In addition, we will be offering our new Online Academy to support continued remote learning for eligible students. Currently, we are enrolling students in all of Northeast Ohio. This expansion of services is very exciting. I want to thank our curriculum and instruction team for their efforts during these last few months to implement this new program for students and school districts.
As we know the future continues to be uncertain with a global pandemic but I am confident with many of our staff and students vaccinated that we will return to school once again safely to educate students. Please keep updated on our schools COVID-19 protocols. I encourage you to read our Human Resource memos for updates. We will continue to provide ongoing updates and I will once again continue to meet weekly with our school superintendents and treasurers, as we begin the school year.
Last school year, all of you demonstrated your resilience, perseverance, and dedication to reopen schools in August 2020. I am so proud of our schools returning to in-person learning with the majority of our schools beginning last school year in session with students 5 days per week. I believe our experiences and what we have learned to educate students during this very difficult past two years has made us stronger. It has also brought us closer to our students, families, and schools. I am very excited for students to be back in-person for the 2021-2022 school year and I look forward to visiting classrooms.
I wish you the best school year ever and I want to thank you once again for all you do for your students and thank the ESCWR Governing Board for their continued support!
