REGISTRATION DETAILS:

Who: Secondary Teachers, Curriculum Leaders & Administrators, Grades 4 and Above 

What: Using the IES Practice Guide, Improving Adolescent Literacy: Effective Classroom and Intervention Practices, participants will learn strategies that meet the 5 recommendations in the guide: 

  • Explicit vocabulary instruction

  • Direct and explicit comprehension strategy instruction

  • Extended discussion of text meaning and interpretation

  • Increase student motivation and engagement

  • Individualized interventions for struggling readers



Participants will come away with improved understanding of adolescent literacy, innovative tier 1 teaching strategies and effective models of MTSS at the middle and high school levels. 

When & Where: January 26, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM; Auburn TLC, Room 106
