2017 OH PBIS Recognition Award Winner
2017 OH PBIS Recognition Award Winner The Lake County Educational Service Center LEAD Program and The Lake Academy High School have been recognized for their success with Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports (PBIS). PBIS involves teaching students expected behaviors in a consistent and positive way, modeling and acknowledging those behaviors, and helping all students meet expectations and be successful. PBIS has been shown to improve student achievement, student behavior, and school climate. In 2015, Ohio first recognized schools who are model examples of strong PBIS. In 2017, the LEAD Program and The Lake Academy High School applied, and they earned recognition at the Bronze (LEAD) and Silver (TLA) levels. They are one of 15 silver, and one of 86 bronze award winning schools to be recognized at this level of distinction, and one of 108 schools to be recognized at any of the levels (Gold, Silver, or Bronze). The LEAD Program and The Lake Academy High School were honored at the 2017 Ohio PBIS Showcase in Mansfield, Ohio on November 30, 2017. A team from The Lake Academy was also selected to present at the Showcase. Congratulations to all involved in these efforts supportive of the PBIS Initiatives in Ohio.
