The goal of The Shoppe in the City is to provide adults with disabilities supported employment to help them reach the greatest level of independence, while also providing another avenue for local businesses to have exposure. After individuals complete academic programs, they often enter settings that are too restrictive, or stay at home due to lack of opportunities to use their skills. The Shoppe in the City provides a place to not only showcase their abilities and become employed, but also creates community awareness that individuals with disabilities should be integrated into workplaces.
Included in the displays are Marianne's Chocolates, Richards' Maple Products, Fowlers Mill, Scribblers Coffee, Zina's Boutique, Lake Erie College, City of Painesville, and many more.
